Hey, look what I made.
For what it's worth, glass blowing chafed against the controller in me. I melted or cracked as many pieces as I came home with. But along the way, I learned the basic melting process, how to keep the glass in a constant spin over the torch -- which is the key to maintaining a rounded shape -- and the signs the glass is ready to blow. Once I let my frustrations go (never an easy order for me), I ended up with a pretty decent haul, especially for the first outing.
Next class is March 22. Who's in?

these are gorgeous!
good job!
these are beautiful indeed! Are they teaching classes this summer? Will you take one with me if I plan our summer trip around a class?
Wow! For the first time out, that's amazing, Christy. Wish I *could* join you on the 21st...that looks more up my alley than knitting.
Thanks, everybody! Leslie, I'll look into the class offerings for the summer, but I've heard the glass studio gets so hot that time of year that they don't do quite as much teaching. Fingers crossed, though!
Hey - you took a glass blowing class! Those look great, Christy! There's a glass studio around the corner from our house, and they had an open studio one night, with demonstrations. It looked like so much fun, as well as a good upper body workout.
You blow! And I mean that in the best possible way.
